The video
below was the promotional video of “Happy Birthday Jesus 2011”. It is the annual
Christmas gift-giving “Happy Birthday Jesus” of Simbahang Pambata under CURE
Foundation in cooperation with Maranatha Christian Fellowship.
Last year,
thirteen thousand people were blessed with bundles of joy. There were also more
or less 200 volunteers during the said event from security to distributors to
markers and so on.
As for me, it
was a blessing to be part in the Media Committee.
Another
turning point in my journey with video editing. This was my first time to use
Adobe After Effects and this is one of my breakthroughs this 2011. Indeed, an
answered prayer. Last year, I prayed to God that He would give me an
opportunity to learn Adobe Premiere Pro before the year ends and He did. This
year, He did it again with Adobe After Effects in the same season (Sept.-Oct.) as
last year. My God is really a God of right timing.
I am willing
to learn, to be trained & taught in this journey. I believe promotion comes
from the Lord and He is faithful. He’s the source of all the gifts of talents. I
can’t give glory to myself but all glory, honor and power belongs to Jesus. It
means so much to me how He brought me from one level to another going through them
ONE STEP AT A TIME.
I would also
like to thank Raulette Mae Jesena and Lorilei Madronial for being the instrument
for this opportunity. Opening the door for me to do this project for Cebu City
Medical Center is indeed a privilege. It pushed me to the next level. And thank
you for the friendship. J
Last but not
the least, congratulations to Cebu City Medical Center for your 50 years of
service.
Happy
Birthday Jesus is an annual Christmas gift-giving activity of Maranatha
Christian Fellowship, which desires to extend the love of God by sharing small
packages of blessings to our less fortunate brothers and sisters.
In relation, we are having a
fundraising campaign this year by selling plastic bottles. We believe one's
trash is another man's treasure. Help us raise funds by donating your empty
plastic bottles to Happy Birthday Jesus.
We are also accepting used clean plastic bags (medium
and large sizes). We are going to recycle them by using these for packing.
For the last ten years or so, the
Maranatha Christian Fellowship has been holding an annual revival conference
called LET THE RIVER FLOW with prominent and world-renowned Christian
revivalists, prophets and generals of intercession as guest speakers and ministers.
It was in the first Let The River Flow conference
that a pastor from Manila caught a vision from God to start Jesus Revolution, a
prayer movement that has since then impacted
many cities all over the world.
Let the River Flow (LTRF) is a three-day conference
with the sole purpose of inviting God to minister to broken lives, to weary
servants of God from all denominations and to those who are bound spiritually,
emotionally, mentally and even physically. The Holy Spirit is given the freedom
to move freely which means that there is no set program or timetable as to the
flow of the conference. LTRF speakers are used to hearing from the Holy Spirit
and allowing Him to do what He does best: change lives, renew and refresh
ministers and even those who never had a personal encounter with God. LTRF is
for all people who are seeking God's manifest presence and longing to
experience His love and His power.
S.H.I.F.T.
(Saved. Healed. Incorruptible. Faithful & Teachable) is the young adults’ ministry
of Maranatha Christian Fellowship (MCF).
We aim to raise
young professionals to be Saved, Healed, Incorruptible, Faithful &
Teachable and release them into their work places as catalyst of CHANGE.
Because we
believe it takes a Young Professional that is Saved, Healed, Incorruptible,
Faithful & Teachable to bring Godly Shift into the workplace.
Every
Wednesday at 7pm, we meet at MCF’s Tabernacle for a fellowship. There are times
that we tackle prepared topics like The
Heart of Genuine Service, Excellence
in the Workplace, and those that are of help for the character growth of
the young professionals in their respective workplace. (Sample promo videos
shown below)

info regarding SHIFT, you may contact 253-5939.
Every month,
youth from Maranatha Christian Fellowship (Extreme 4 Jesus) and members of the
campus ministry (The Movement) converge
to praise and worship the Lord, encounter Him, know more about His word, and do
things we believe are instructions from the Holy Spirit.
To inform
others about the monthly convergence with different theme, promotion videos
were made.

A friend of
mine, Doris Ogdoc, asked for my help to edit the video interviews they had about
oral tradition in Sambuan for her project in Masters of Literature.
The
statements in the video that I believe were significant are:
Are we
such a forgiving people, we easily forget what the Spanish colonizers did to
us, not only usurping our resources before. But up until now, we are actually
still bound to their supremacy. We have allowed their religious practices to
reign over our way of life.
It does
not mean that the tradition handed down by generations past should be embraced
and preserved just to achieve that “cultural identity” we have as Filipinos.
Studying our heritage would rather give us illumination of why we should
unlearn some culture that has long bound us for our development as a nation.

This
year's theme for Fresh Fire Conference 2011 “Break The Silence: Releasing A
Holy Outcry In Our Nation” is a call for the church especially the young people
to awaken from apathy, convenience & hopelessness towards the raging tide
of corruption, injustice, and immorality in our nation. Isaiah, the prophet,
speaks in Chapter 59 that when the enemy comes in like a flood, God raises a
standard against the enemy. For many years we have allowed our culture of shame
and honor, our culture of religiosity to silence us about the issues that
undeniably affect the future of this nation.
But this year, we believe that God is going to
raise up the youth of this nation with heaven's outcry that cannot be silenced
by the prevailing culture, that cannot be bought by any price. This year, we
believe God is calling the youth to stand against and challenge the giants of
our land.
It is time to BREAK THE SILENCE. (Cherrylyn
Cano-Lumasag, 2011)

This was our
second promotion video for our annual youth conference Fresh Fire Conference
2011.
Many lives
were touched in the previous Fresh Fire Conference when they encountered Jesus
and experienced Him. Here is a video showing the testimony of few of the many
people who have received love, healing (physically, emotionally and mentally),
breakthroughs, and freedom from bondages (struggles, issues, bad habits, sin,
oppression, depression, etc.) last Fresh Fire Conference 2010.

Happy
Birthday Jesus, is an annual Christmas activity of Maranatha Christian
Fellowship, which desires to extend the love of God by sharing small packages
of blessings to our less fortunate brothers and sisters.
This was the
video shown in our church and other institutions encouraging people to help in
the means that they can for the event.
Last 2009,
Happy Birthday Jesus have shared 8,500 packs of blessings.
Last
December 18, 2010, having a big faith on our big God, it was able to bless
15,000 people.
This year,
we still believe that provisions will come and many will be blessed.

This is the first pre-nuptial slideshow video I made ever.
My friend
Fritzy Pacheco, a wedding and lifestyle photographer, needed help in making a
slideshow of her friend’s pre-nuptial pictures for Carlo and Febbie’s wedding
reception. Due to time constraints, she outsourced and asked my help. So I
accepted her request and this is the output. J
Note: If you would like to inquire regarding Fritzy Pacheco’s Wedding and
Lifestyle Photography, here’s the link of her website. http://fritzypacheco.com/
This is my
very first work using Adobe Premiere. This was another turning point for me to
level up into another video editing software.
I remembered, before having this project, that I prayed to God for a project
that will enable me to learn Adobe Premiere before 2010 ends. Then, a friend of
mine needs to make a short film for her Masteral project in Literature (Subject
in Cebuano) last October 2010. Thus, Papil Sa Panganduy (the film title) and
Himaya Productions (our production team while making this short film) was
birthed. J
To know more
about the concept, the process and the people behind this short film, here’s a
link of the blog page of the writer and director of Papil Sa Panganduy, Doris
Ogdoc.
[Note: Hehehe... We
weren't able to check first if both camera records in the same video frame
whether 4:3 or 16:9. So there may be parts in the film that it's obvious. But
hopefully the editing did the trick. :) ]
Many adults
underestimate children thinking they don’t understand things. But actually they
do. Most children even have the faith which most adults don’t have. Even as
young as they are they can touch lives as their lives were touched by Jesus.
They are not just gonna be our FUTURE leaders but they can be PRESENT leaders
of their generation.
Hope you
will be blessed and moved by God as you watch a short summary video of Camp
David last 2010. Camp David is the annual kids’ camp of the congregation
Maranatha Christian Fellowship where I am part of.
That’s the title of
the video we made for our case presentation to our nurse mentors and fellow
nurse trainees last July 2009. It was entitled as such since it was inspired by
Mike Enriquez’ “Imbestigador”. It showed the history and assessment information
of the client through re-enactment with my group mates as the actors and
actresses.
What will be shown here
is a copy cut from the video documentation during the presentation.

Greater
things have yet to come and greater things are still to be done in this city.
In spite of
many negative situations in our nation, we believe that there is still hope because
nothing is impossible with our God. He can change our nation. He is the same
God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The God of Moses who delivered the Israelites
from slavery of Egypt.
The more darkness
creeps in, the more The Light (Jesus) shines.

- Few of the moments captured last Fresh Fire
Conference 2009 were shown in this video.
From
assistant head last 2008, I was assigned as Promotion Committee Head the next
year for Fresh Fire Conference. The heads and members of the committees (mostly
are youth) were not professional event organizers but we rely on the guidance
and help from our God in organizing this big conference in our church.
What we
experienced and learn during the preparation for the conference was really a
training for us for God’s plans in our lives. The time, efforts and tears were
all worth it seeing many young people touched and transformed by God during the
conference.
This promo
video encourages young people to live life to the fullest by living radically
for Jesus. To die from our own reputation, image, and selfish desires and
exchange it with Jesus’ lordship (rule and reign) in our mind and hearts is
actually to find real life.
The
conference theme last 2009 was “Consecr8: Raising Up A Nazirite Generation.”

Last 2008, I
was assigned as the Assistant Head in the Promotion Committee for the Fresh
Fire Conference. Our promotion head at that time was Yen Cano. The conference
is the annual youth camp of Maranatha Christian Fellowship.
Below is the
video I made to promote the conference to the congregation. From Windows Movie
Maker, I tried using another software which is Ulead Video Studio. As far as I
can remember, I think this is my first project with the latter software.
It’s been few months now when I wanted to start my own video blog. But it seems I don’t know where to start. However, since I have experienced editing a short film project for my friend entitled “Papil Sa Panganduy” (first video I edited with Adobe Premiere Pro) and also making promotional videos for ministries and events in our church, I have decided to first share my collections of videos I edited as my first few entries. But hopefully soon I can also start posting video blogs of stuffs which I find interesting. J
I have not undergone formal studies in video editing. But I give all the credits to my Creator who gave me the ideas and creativity to come up with video outputs which I myself can’t imagine that I would be able to do so since I really started from scratch without any formal training.
I started editing my first video (shot using a Canon digital camera last 2007 when I was still in my fourth year college in Nursing for our Psychiatric Nursing Case Presentation) with Windows Movie Maker. It was entitled, “SOCOB:” No one in our group at that time knew how to edit videos. Thus I encouraged myself to learn about Windows Movie Maker for our group. That was my turning point in my video editing journey.
Although I already had that seed of interest in my heart regarding video production, it was never actualized since that Psychiatric Case Presentation.
